About
the GMIC
The Golf Management Institute of Canada (GMIC) is a
not-for-profit organization, registered Canadian
charity and certified private educational
institution through Human Resources and Skills
Development Canada.
The GMIC was established in 1999 and is the only
school of its kind in the world. The GMIC's mission
is to provide excellence in golf management
education by offering specialized programs to the
golf industry and its labour force across Canada and
around the world. The GMIC offers an ONLINE Graduate
Studies Diploma in Golf Operations Management in
partnership with Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU)
comprised of ten (10) courses specific to the
business golf that is recognized by all of Canada's
national golf associations. GMIC/WLU courses are
offered 12 months a year using the latest internet
and multimedia technology. To date the GMIC has
attracted hundreds of students from over 20
different countries around the world to its program.
In 2004, the GMIC was awarded the "Canadian Award
for E-Training Excellence by the Canadian Society
for Training and Development.
Our
core product offering is a Graduate Studies Diploma
in Golf Operations Management, a program specifically
designed for individuals interested in pursuing a management
career in the golf industry. The program is comprised
of 10 golf management courses offered online throughout
the year.
Upon completing the program, students will
obtain a Graduate Studies Diploma in Golf Operations
Management from the GMIC and a Certificate of
Completion in Golf Operations from Wilfrid
Laurier University and
Certification
in Golf Management from the Canadian PGA upon becoming a
Class "A"
member of the association.

throughout Canada and abroad to assist in the development
and delivery of golf diploma and certificate programs.
In
association with its industry and academic partners,
the GMIC also offers golf-specific seminars, workshops
and custom training solutions to meet your organizational
training requirements.
