Business Law for Golf Managers

Legal issues affecting the golf industry such as the law of contracts, torts, occupational health and safety, environmental protection, food and liquor liability, and general negligence will be covered in this course. Different forms of business organizations will also be discussed. The legal responsibilities of the golf course owner to protect his/her employees, the public, and the golf course itself will also be explained. Students will be given opportunities to discuss and debate these often-contentious issues online in a live chat environment.

Course Professor

Hussein Hamdani, M.A., LL.B., is a lawyer with the law firm of Simpson Wigle LLP in Burlington, Ontario specializing in the areas of corporate and commercial law. Mr. Hamdani received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from McMaster University, a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Western Ontario. In addition to teaching for the Golf Management Institute of Canada, Mr. Hamdani is a professor of business law at Niagara College and is a golfer at heart.
